The depth distribution-a new characterization for linear codes
نویسنده
چکیده
We apply the well-known operator of sequences, the derivative D, on codewords of linear codes. The depth of a codeword c is the smallest integer i such that Dc (the derivative applied i consecutive times) is zero. We show that the depth distribution of the nonzero codewords of an [n; k] linear code consists of exactly k nonzero values, and its generator matrix can be constructed from any k nonzero codewords with distinct depths. Interesting properties of some linear codes, and a way to partition equivalent codes into depth-equivalence classes are also discussed.

Characterization of $2times 2$ full diversity space-time codes and inequivalent full rank spaces
In wireless communication systems, space-time codes are applied to encode data when multiple antennas are used in the receiver and transmitter. The concept of diversity is very crucial in designing space-time codes. In this paper, using the equivalent definition of full diversity space-time codes, we first characterize all real and complex $2times 2$ rate one linear dispersion space-...
متن کاملMonte Carlo Simulation of a Linear Accelerator and Electron Beam Parameters Used in Radiotherapy
Introduction: In recent decades, several Monte Carlo codes have been introduced for research and medical applications. These methods provide both accurate and detailed calculation of particle transport from linear accelerators. The main drawback of Monte Carlo techniques is the extremely long computing time that is required in order to obtain a dose distribution with good statistical accuracy. ...
متن کاملOptimal Linear Codes Over GF(7) and GF(11) with Dimension 3
Let $n_q(k,d)$ denote the smallest value of $n$ for which there exists a linear $[n,k,d]$-code over the Galois field $GF(q)$. An $[n,k,d]$-code whose length is equal to $n_q(k,d)$ is called {em optimal}. In this paper we present some matrix generators for the family of optimal $[n,3,d]$ codes over $GF(7)$ and $GF(11)$. Most of our given codes in $GF(7)$ are non-isomorphic with the codes pre...
متن کاملBeta-Linear Failure Rate Distribution and its Applications
We introduce in this paper a new four-parameter generalized version of the linear failure rate distribution which is called Beta-linear failure rate distribution. The new distribution is quite flexible and can be used effectively in modeling survival data and reliability problems. It can have a constant, decreasing, increasing and bathtub-shaped failure rate function depending on its parameter...
متن کاملPlanelet Transform: A New Geometrical Wavelet for Compression of Kinect-like Depth Images
With the advent of cheap indoor RGB-D sensors, proper representation of piecewise planar depth images is crucial toward an effective compression method. Although there exist geometrical wavelets for optimal representation of piecewise constant and piecewise linear images (i.e. wedgelets and platelets), an adaptation to piecewise linear fractional functions which correspond to depth variation ov...
